Happy Easter!

March 30, 2010

Easter is this Sunday, and I thought it would be nice to do a short post on some chic outfits that can work for any of your Easter plans, whether it's going to church, Easter brunch or Easter dinner. And, I've also added a non-dress look that is more casual, but could still work for any Easter day festivity.

Happy Easter to everyone and God Bless!

"If You Like Pina Coladas..."

March 22, 2010

The temps are rising in the desert, and with that comes daydreaming of summertime fun. Okay, maybe not the 115 degree summertime inferno fun, but the idyllic dreams of escaping to a near-by beach or lounging around a pool sipping, you guessed it, pina coladas. Of course it doesn't help that the stores are pushing out their spring/summer clothes with adorable beach dresses, crisp-white capris and sailor stripes on everything. And so, I was tempted. And I gave in. I bought one of each. Plus some necklaces.

Now it seem nearly impossible for me to not wish away my day with images of me strolling along the beach in my brightly colored maxi dress, gladiator sandals and beaded necklace, or relaxing at a beach-side restaurant drinking a chilled chardonnay and savoring a delectable dish of mussels (okay, so this is more like reminiscing).

To get you in the same enjoyable mood I currently am in, here is a peek at my latest buy, plus some other inspirational dresses that will definitely get you thinking about the warmer, stress-free days ahead.

Thanks Mr. Rogers!

He was the king of cardigans, and he ushered in a whole generation of kids who equated comfort and kindness with the affable and oh so essential piece of clothing in nearly everyone's closet. Men and women -- young and old -- have at least one cardigan in their wardrobe. Next to jeans and t-shirts, the cardigan is one of the most functional pieces of clothing that you will (or should) ever own. And over the last several years, it has had a huge update. No more straight-from-the-neck, button-down-pearls, grandma-wearing cardigans; instead, the cardigan has gone from (channeling Can't Buy Me Love) "geek to chic!"

Now every cardigan style and some new incarnations are finding their way into designers' minds and hearts. You've got: lets-applique-the-crap-out-of-this cardigans; shield-your-eyes-from-bright-colored-neon cardigans; this-isn't-a-cardigan cardigans; and I-need-something-heavier-than-a-cardigan sweater cardigans. No matter their styling, they are great for jazzing up a look and adding a bit of sophistication to any look. Here are a few examples of some chic cardigans I found around the Web.
