Sizing Up the Competition

April 16, 2007

I've discovered a great new website dedicated to helping women find clothes that fit their body types. It is called MyShape (www.myshape.com). And to partake of the ever growing selection of outfits by body-type, you enter myriad measurements of yourself into a slightly time-consuming form (it's well worth it in the end, though) and viola! Through the magic of the website, you'll receive a detailed report on what your specific body shape is and what that means to you when shopping for clothes.

There are seven distinct body shapes: M-Y-S-H-A-P-E (what a coincident those letters spell out my shape! hehe), and there is a brief description for each one. Once you have established your shape letter, it is off to shop. The site is fairly new, and they seem to add new pieces to it quite often. The pieces can be a bit pricey, but they do have some good deals and sale items. Here are a few pieces that fit various shapes...

Layered Blouson Top, $258, Cynthia Steffe; Stretch Jean, $69, Tribal; Soft Leather Belt, $85, Cartellini (for shapes M S H A)

Surplice Dress, $138, Notice (for shapes M Y S P)

Fancy Henley Tee, $29, Basil & Maude (for all shapes)

Tweed Trouser, $69, Margaret M (for shapes M Y A)
